Bus Service

Beginning March 23, KU on Wheels will be operating on a modified summer “B” schedule. Routes 27, 30, 34, 36, 38, 41, 42, and 43 will not operate. Routes 11 and 29 will operate on their “B” schedules, and route 10 will continue still serve campus as well. Instead of route 41, we will operate a modified circulator (new route 45) 7 a.m. – 6 p.m. Monday-Friday, running every 30 minutes (PDF map). Updated service announcements will be made at www.lawrencetransit.org, on the Lawrence Transit facebook page, and in the announcements on our real-time bus app, MyBusLawrence.

Ride KC announced that the 510 K-10 Connector will use the “summer” schedule starting on Monday, March 23, due to the closure of the University of Kansas and Johnson County Community College.

SAFETY Precautions: First Transit is taking steps to make the buses as safe as possible for drivers and passengers. The buses are disinfected nightly and high-touch surfaces are being disinfected throughout the day, as often as feasible between bus trips. The city urges passengers to only take essential trips and maintain a 6-foot distance from other passengers on board if possible to limit the spread of COVID-19.

SafeRide from March 22

Beginning this weekend, we will be operating the summer SafeRide schedule, with rides on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings next week, but with a reduced number of cars and no shared rides (other than the person you are with). Please call 785-864-SAFE or use the KU SafeRide app to schedule rides between 10:30 p.m. and 2:30 a.m.

Airport Shuttles March 22-April 16

We will work with students leaving campus for the next three weeks to get you to the airport. We will be limiting rides to TWO students per car per trip, which means the cost will be $70 per student. Rides will not be guaranteed until we can confirm two people per trip. Please fill out our online form to make the request, and you will be contacted by KU Transportation Services staff directly to schedule your trip, if possible.

Campus Parking

Until further notice, all lots and garages are open and parking is free EXCEPT for Lot 3 (between Snow and Bailey Halls), which will continue to be restricted for the reserved stall owners only. ADA and service vehicle stalls will still be enforced, as well as no parking in a designated stall. Jayhawk Boulevard is open to drive-thru traffic.
